• OMC is my safe space. I feel so comfortable and accepted here. I always get a smile when I walk in. It's so welcoming. I’m not able to get here as much as I want to because of transportation issues but I love OMC. What else is there to say? This place is amazing.

  • There isn’t one single moment that I can reflect upon as my most memorable moment at OMC as much as it was a collection of moments, an atmosphere. When I first came to Omaha my life was in shambles, going through a divorce, coming out late in life, dealing with rejection, scorn and contempt.

I was accepted as I was, dysfunction and all, free to be the person I really wanted to be. Being comfortable with who you are (and where you are) wins most battles on the social landscape. OMC is a comfortable haven against a rising tide of ignorance, hatred and arrogance.

I always viewed myself as a person in search of a place. I had no idea I would find it at a small comfortable bar in Omaha, Nebraska. Cheers!

  • There is no one single memorable event here. We found this bar in the fall of 2020 as the weather turned cold, and we needed to find a new place to social distance indoors on our date nights.  We came looking for a couple of really cool guys we had met at another bar. We found a group of friends that would become family. We spend the major holidays: Labor Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with these friends. My wife and I enjoy the fact that we can be “deeply into each other” as we enjoy our date nights and no one seems to be bothered by it.  Aside from the bar owner and a handful of people it took time for others to warm up to us. It was over a year before a regular stopped greeting us with “hey hetero couple” or “hey straight couple” and asked us our names.  This is our cheers. Where everyone knows our name.  We have our seats at the corner of the bar.

So no, there is no single memory in 2023, or any year past that stands out above the other because every single visit here is memorable in a new and unique way.  This is the place where everyone can come as they are and find acceptance for who they are, unconditionally.

  • My most thrilling experience this year was at a monthly art night. The shibari rope with big open squares was fun and then I was painted with uv reactive paint and shined with the black lights. I was an exhilarating experience to do full body art. OMC allows me to have experiences that I cant have just anywhere. I feel very safe and at home here.

Thank you for always giving us a home and safe space to be ourselves.

  • My best experience at the bar was winning the karaoke contest for the month of December. Karaoke is very therapeutic. I have always loved music, and to have won this contest was truly meaningful.

  • I was honestly impressed and had a blast for my Christmas show and open stage night in December. The crowd was amazing and very responsive both nights. I loved the energy they were giving. That made me very happy.
